The Success Lift Podcast

Jan 31, 2022

Shea Hillenbrand is a former baseball player, who now coaches elite pro athletes and leaders on a variety of topics like mindset, performance, and identity. Having gone through a mindset transformation himself, Shea believes that motivation is simply a consequence of action, and action can be achieved by taking simple steps every day.

This concept is the foundation of his work and the source of his teachings.

In this episode of The Success Lift Podcast, Shea shares a good part of his story when fame and prestige weren’t enough to give him happiness, and how he was able to willfully find purpose amidst chaos. Shea also speaks about the lack of self-confidence that comes to surface when we don’t do what we committed ourselves to do. Failure is the first step to self-doubt, but it’s also the first step to build resilience. Tune in!

Key Highlights

  • Shea talks about the importance of finding purpose, which he actually did long after being famous and having prestige;
  • People connect so much of what they do with who they are, and that’s a misconception of what we really came here to do;
  • Resilience is not something that is created overnight, it’s a step-by-step process that is built overtime after a good amount of failures;
  • Action begets motivation – and not the other way around;
  • The biggest competitors we have to face in life are ourselves, our limiting thoughts, and the wrong beliefs we have about our true potential.
